Dugong-seagrass workshop in Indonesia
Prof Hans de Iongh of the Conservation Biology department of the Institute of Environmental Sciences Leiden contributed from 30 January until 2 February to a workshop on Dugong-Seagrass interactions in Jakarta
This workshop was supported by the Convention of Migratory species,UNEP, Research Centre for Oceanography (RCO-LIPI) and WWF Indonesia and is part of the dugong-Seagrass conservation project, which is implemented in all countries worldwide where dugongs occur.
The project aims at the protection of dugongs and Seagrass habitat and supports the development of scientific capacity in the participating countries. The project is financially supported by the Environmental Protection Agency in Abu Dhabi
