New visiting staff member: Beatriz Paneda Murcia
Beatriz Pañeda Murcia, from the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, will be present at our Faculty as a guest PhD researcher over the coming months.
Her PhD project aims to contribute to a deeper understanding of Roman cult-places and religious practices by examining public sanctuaries housing several divinities in relation to the question of the synnaoi theoi. The study focusses on three main cults: Mater Magna, the Isiac divinities and Jupiter Optimus Maximus.
Beatriz has been awarded a scholarship from her University for her stay in Leiden and has also secured a grant from the Spanish Ministry of Economy.
You can find Beatriz in Room B.102. She will present the results of her work in Leiden towards the end of her stay, in May 2017.
