Moritz Jesse provides Key-Note Address at German-Dutch Lawyer Association Conference
Moritz Jesse, Associate Professor at the Europa Institute in Leiden, provided the key-note lecture at this year’s annual conference of the German-Dutch Lawyers Association. The lecture was titled “The other’s amongst us – Third-Country Nationals and Brits in the EU”.
It dealt with the status of third-country nationals in the EU and how the law separates non-nationals of the Member States of the EU from EU citizens. In a second part, the lecture dealt with the potential effects of BREXIT, i.e. the withdrawal of the UK from the EU, on the status of British nationals in the EU and of EU nationals in the UK.
The annual conference of the German-Dutch Lawyers conference took place in Noordwijk and Leiden in October 2016. The conference, which takes place annually since 1949 alternating in Germany and the Netherlands, seeks to bring together lawyers from both sides of the border.
