Team meeting at Kyoto University
At least twice a year the Skandapurāṇa team meets to discuss drafts of the forthcoming volume of the critical edition. in March 2016 a five-day meeting was held at Kyoto University, where we discussed several chapters that will be part of Volume IV.
This volume will cover chapters 70-95. In this part of the text the authors have included a number of key Vaiṣṇava episodes, such as Viṣṇu’s descent as the Manlion (Narasiṃha), and they introduce Andhaka, a major character in subsequent Śaiva mythology. In September, the next team meeting will be held at Leiden University.
