Research area of Politics and international studies at Leiden University ranks highly in QS
In the 2015 QS World University rankings the area of Politics and International Studies at Leiden University, which includes Public Administration, has climbed to the 23rd place worldwide. Politics and International Studies at Leiden University holds the first position in The Netherlands and a top 10 position (6th) within Europe. The Institute of Public Administration is proud of this outstanding achievement and is committed to further strengthening its leading international position.
World University Rankings
The QS Subject Rankings are compiled and published annually by the British education consultancy firm: Quacquarelli Symonds (QS). The subject rankings are based on research citations from Scopus data, reputational surveys of academics and graduate employers worldwide on a research theme within the University.
QS also publishes overall university rankings. The World University Rankings is considered to be one of the most influential and widely observed. The rankings measure academic and employer reputation, citations, staff student ratio, international staff radio and international students.
Leiden University’s reputation
Over the academic year of ’14-’15 Leiden University kept a 2nd position in the Netherlands in the overall University rankings. In the field of Public Administration the subject as well as the faculty area are doing well. The area of Politics and International Studies of Leiden University has climbed up from the 34 to the 23 place in the ranking. Also the faculty area of Social Sciences of which Politics and International Studies is part has improved.
