Thesis prize for Nathalie Brusgaard
Nathalie Brusgaard has won second prize (€ 2.000) in the Leiden University Thesis Prizes 2015 with her thesis 'The Social Significance of Cattle in Bronze Age North-Western Europe'.
In her thesis, Brusgaard reconstructs the role of cattle in Bronze Age society. Her elaborate research focuses on the social significance of cattle. Exploration of tree lines of evidence result in a thesis that stands out for its theoretical depth and clever combination of methods. Her supervisor, Professor Fokkens, graded this thesis with a 10. Brusgaard, a Danish national, was sponsored by the LUF Internationaal StudieFonds (LISF).
