Dr. Dong Guo won the Dutch Medicinal Chemistry prize 2013-2014
On March 27th, 2015 the biannual Dutch Medicinal Chemistry Prize for the best Dutch Ph.D. thesis in the field was awarded to Dr. Dong Guo, a current postdoc researcher in our lab, by the Section of Medicinal Chemistry of the Royal Netherlands Chemical Society.
The title of his thesis was “Drug-Target Residence Time—A case for the adenosine A 1 and A 2A receptors” and the research was supervised by Prof. Ad IJzerman and Dr Laura Heitman. The jury of the prize consisted of Prof. Dr Koen Augustyns (University of Antwerp), Dr Laurent Provins (UCB Pharma), Dr Floris van Delft (SynAffix) and Dr Anita Wegert (Mercachem). The prize, € 1000 (sponsored by Mercachem) and a certificate, was handed over during the yearly spring symposium in Utrecht entitled ‘Medicinal Chemistry of Protein-Protein Interactions: Challenges and Opportunities’, where Dr Dong Guo presented the winning work.
