Final results: Minor E4S
Over the last five months, 31 students of the Minor Entrepreneurship for Society spend 26040 hours working on 11 business proposals for social impact. The student start-up teams took up a societal challenge, developed a business plan and crowd funded their pilot. Learning how to go from having an idea, to making it happen. Just like a (social) entrepreneurial.
On Tuesday, January 27th, all start-up teams presented the results of their work: what did they do, what was their business plan and how did they experience the challenge of putting their idea to the test? Four jury members - consisting of Willem te Beest (Vice Chairman of the Executive Board of Leiden University), Bernhard Katzy (Professor for Technology and Innovation Management at Leiden University), Caroline van Leenders (Senior process manager sustainable transitions at Rijksdienst voor Ondernemend Nederland) and Robbert Maas (Founder and Director at the Social Enterprise SOON) - provided feedback on the process and results. Key factors that the jury took into account were: societal change and impact of the projects, and whether the projects were inspiring, innovative and ambitious.
At the end of the day, the jury has chosen two winners, of which the first place goes to the start-up team WOOSS - make your own air! The second place goes to the start-up team FINDI - bio hacking food waste! The start-ups will be invited to the develop their business further in the CFI Venture Academy.
