2012 Publication 'Stemmen op berkenbast'
Jos Schaeken has just published a book entitled 'Stemmen op berkenbast. Berichten uit middeleeuws Rusland: dagelijks leven en communicatie'.
The book (in Dutch) describes several of the Russian medieval texts that were found on birchbast. Most of these texts deal with topics of everyday life in the area of Novgorod; they originate from the 11th to the 15th century.
