ISIE Award for Gjalt Huppes
The ISIE Society Prize is awarded every two years for outstanding contributions to the field of industrial ecology. It is the ISIE's highest recognition of professional achievement.
In its 2011 meeting at University of California Berkeley, USA, the Awards Committee of ISIE awarded the 2011 Society Prize to Gjalt Huppes for his achievements in the field of Industrial Ecology, in particular his pioneering work in LCA, SFA and environmentally extended Input-Output analysis. Through this and his leadership in organizing international conferences, chairing key UNEP committees and heading the Industrial Ecology department at CML for over two decades he had a tremendous impact in the field.
