Over the past year, the community building team at International Studies has been working hard to document the career steps of our older and more recent graduates from International Studies.

It was a diverse crowd of around 45 people that gathered on 28 February to attend the ‘career speed date’ event between current and former students of the BA International Studies. The informal event, set-up in a room of the parliamentary press center Nieuwspoort, meant to provide students with some insights ‘from the field’ into professional life after International Studies.

Summer has finally arrived in the northern hemisphere and it's definitely giving us an energy boost!

Bhumika Gupta (21), International Studies alumna, secured an internship in the OPCW, the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons. She has set a path for herself, leading towards the job of her dreams, and this internship is a big step towards that future job.

Alumni associations are there for both recent and older alumni to exchange experiences about the field and more. We spoke to Arla Mannersuo, board member of the International Studies Alumni Association, about the benefits of membership and what happens behind the scenes.

One of the great strengths of International Studies Alumni is their ability find and foster connections, creating understanding between people all over the world. The online story-platform and community “Correspondents of the World”, is an interesting initiative by International Studies Alumni which embodies these qualities exactly. The platform aims to engage readers with themes like gender, migration, liberation, corona and the environment through the power of personal stories. You can get involved! We spoke to two founders of the Platform & International Studies Alumni, Joost Backer (25) and Mira Kinn (28), who were excited to tell us more.

Our goal as a bachelor's programme is to see all our students graduate and move on to either a master's programme, or the labour market.
