April 2: Make your choice at the Minor information Market (in Leiden)
In the third year all students have 30 EC of Elective Credits to spend on courses outside of their programme. Students who are not going abroad or take an internship will do a minor. A minor is a cohesive package of subjects worth 30 EC. Students can choose to follow a minor programme at Leiden University, at another university or build their own minor (Elective credits package).

Aisha Hassan’s lifelong fascination for developing countries
Aisha Hassan came to the Netherlands when she was two months old. Her mother had fled Somalia and made a new home here. Aisha doesn't remember much about that time, but her mother’s stories about Somalia ignited a lifelong interest in developing countries. ‘Her stories have always fascinated me.’
