New: Mapping your Future - prepare for your future today
International Studies offers its students ample opportunity to prepare for their future. You can now find all the information about that on "Mapping your Future" on this website.
Making choices in the programme
Choices you make within your programme, but also outside your programme, influence the options that will be open to you after your studies. What should you do now if you are planning to enter the labour market directly after graduating, or do a master’s first? And are you curious about what previous generations of International Studies graduates did after their studies? All these questions are now answered on the newly developed Tab on the This is International Studies website under the header: Mapping your future.
Career Services
In addition to the options you have within your curriculum, Career Services offers many workshops and events where you can prepare for your future. This includes the yearly Career Event and workshops on how to write a CV and cover letter, or how to prepare for an interview. Mapping your Future connects you directly to the webpage of Career Services and to our career advisor, Atse Fokkens.
After your studies
International Studies students are well-prepared for the labour market, at least, that is what our alumni say. You can find many stories of what our alumni have been up to after they graduated at Mapping your Future.
Work in progress
This new part of the website is work in progress. If you have any advice on how to improve the page, or you feel there is information missing, please send an email to the Programme Manager, Jaap Kamphuis. You can also take a look at the report Labour Market Preparation in International Studies to gain even more inspiration. In this report you will find detailed information on how the programme prepares you for your future. One of the main recommendations in the report is the creation of Mapping your Future. However, there are always more ways to improve, so feel free to help make our programme even better!
