Follow the opening of the academic year from The Hague
The opening of the 2018-2019 Academic Year will take place on 3 September in the Pieterskerk in Leiden. Students and staff from The Hague can choose from three different ways to follow the ceremony.
Attend the ceremony - by organised bus service
If you would like to attend the ceremony in the Pieterskerk, you can do so. Specially for student and staff from The Hague a bus will depart at 14.00 hrs to Leiden. You can reserve a place on the bus until 30 August via this form. If you register for the bus trip, you will automatically be registered for the ceremony. The bus will leave from Schedeldoekshaven, in front of the Turfmarkt car park.
On the big screen on the Spanish Steps
The ceremony in the Pieterskerk will be broadcast live on the big screen at the Spanish Steps in the Wijnhaven Building. The broadcast will start at 15.00 hrs.

You can follow the ceremony via live stream from the homepage www.universiteitleiden.nl The broadcast will start at 15.00 hrs. There will be a simultaneous translation into English.
