Quirine Eijkman over het in de gaten houden van potentiële terroristen
Quirine Eijkman, terrorism expert at the Institute for Security and Global Affairs, talked about the attack in Manchester.
The suicide terrorist who blew himself up in the Manchester Arena Monday evening was known to the British security- and intelligence services. The question arises if the authorities could have prevented this attack. According to dr. Eijkman, it is very hard to estimate when someone will act. Eijkman states this is the problem: there are too many people observed by the intelligence services, and it is impossible to monitor all these persons.
