Pokémon Go new opportunity for children with autism
'A great result for the effect of Pokémon Go on children with autism', says Carolien Rieffe in the Dutch newspaper De Volkskrant. 'Although we do not know whether the game will lead to friendships in the long term.'
Pokémon Go, the new game designed by Nintendo, has become extremely popular in a very short time. Therapists working with children with autism spectrum disorder are already very enthusiastic about the game. In De Volkskrant (Dutch newspaper, red.) we read about a mother who is happy to notice the effect of Pokémon Go on her two sons with autism. The boys finally go and play outside together, whereas previously they were always playing at home by themselves. A great result, Carolien says in the same article, although we do not know whether the game will lead to friendships in the long term.
