Antoaneta Dimitrova talks about the consequences of the 'No' outcome of the referendum in the China Daily
Last week's referendum about the association treaty with Ukraine received a 'no' from the Dutch public. How will the Dutch government deal with this negative outcome? What are the consequences of the 'no' for the treaty? Antoaneta Dimitrova spoke with the China Daily to discuss the matter.
"It will be politically problematic if the government decided to ignore the outcome," said Dimitrova about the issue, "There has been little debate concerning the treaty itself. The Dutch government will find it difficult to negotiate amendments to the treaty with Brussels as it will be little known what the Dutch people objected to in relation to the treaty itself."
