Combination of general and regional approach can give clean water
Interview in the popular journal for the agricultural sector Nieuwe Oogst with CML-researcher Martina Vijver about the Dutch policy on pesticides and it’s possible conflicts with the aims for clear surface and groundwater.
Introduction
On Oct 3th 2015 an interview with CML-researcher Martina Vijver was published in Nieuwe Oogst, an popular journal for the agricultural sector. They talked about the Dutch policy on pesticides and it’s possible conflicts with the aims for clear surface and groundwater. This seems conflicting, however as Martina states both is important and needed for the agricultural sector. The intensive agricultural sector cannot go without pesticides usage, but it also requires clean water as a service. Ideas on how to deal with those issues were discussed from a top-down (nation-wide policy) and bottom up (regional stakeholders) approach.
