Just imagine: you graduated some time ago and have been working for a while but still long for a career abroad. You may be considering a career in diplomacy or would like to start your own business in another country. There are several paths to a career abroad, each with its own challenges and opportunities.
Come to this new Young Alumni Network event on Thursday 10 April and hear about the experiences of young Leiden alumni . Discover whether you are suited to a career abroad.
Diplomat, entrepeneur and liaison
To give a picture of the wide range of opportunities for working abroad, we have invited three alumni to a panel discussion in the Kamerlingh Onnes Building. Each will talk about their experiences and there will be plenty of time for your questions too. The discussion will be followed by a reception in the Law café.
Arend van Vuren is an International Relations and Organisations alumnus (2016). He is currently the First Secretary for Development Cooperation at the Embassy of the Netherlands in South Sudan.
Rennie Roos holds an MA in Politics, Society & Economy of Asia (2014). He is a social entrepreneur whostarted his own company in Indonesia (part of Enviu). Sandy Tiu, who also lives in Indonesia, is the founder of I am Sustainable Studio. Both companies aim to find solutions for a circular economy and would like to share their experiences of how young professionals can start an impactful career in the world of sustainability.
Joep den Teuling is currently studying China Studies. He worked as a liaison at a division of a Dutch company in Wuhan, China before coming to Leiden.
