Nationalism: A World History is the first thorough overview of the history of nationalism from the early modern era until the present that encompasses the entire world. In his book Storm not just explores the rise of the nation-state, but also examines the meaning of citizenship, the impact of nationalism on high culture and the humanities, and the nationalization of the physical environment.
André Gerrits, Professor of International Studies and Global Politics, and Carolien Stolte, Associate Professor Colonial and Global History, will comment on the book, after which the author will briefly respond to the referents.
