The Europe Hub is happy to present the launch of Leiden University researcher Tom Theuns' new book Protecting Democracy in Europe: Pluralism, Autocracy and the Future of the EU, (Hurst Publishers/Oxford University Press) on November 26. The event is co-sponsored by the European Integration and Legitimacy and Justice research clusters, as well as by the Representation of the European Commission in the Netherlands.
The format will include a short presentation by the author and a panel discussion with Judith Sargentini (GroenLinks MEP 2009-2019), Matt Steinglass (Europe correspondent, The Economist), Dr. Afke Groen (Director, Mr. Hans van Mierlo Institute) and Joeri Buhrer Tavanier (Executive Director, Netherlands Helsinki Committee).
The event takes place on 26 November; 15.15-17.30 at Europe House, Korte Vijberberg 5, the Hague. This is next to the Mauritshuis, about an 8 minutes walk from the Wijnhaven campus. Please pre-register using this link, or following the QR code on the flyer (below).
