Start Your Future!
Are you the first in your family to attend the university? Or are you going to study in Leiden or The Hague but you did not grow up in the Netherlands? Or the Dutch educational system is completely new to you? In such cases, joining the university is a beautiful and exciting new step! But also a dive into the unknown.
Be prepared for studying at Leiden University
Leiden University would like to welcome you with a special introductory program. Here you will get familiar with the university, studying, and other fellow students. You will receive all the needed information to feel at home and become successful in this new academic world. There is of course also plenty of room to ask your questions.
Also for parents/caregivers
If your parents/caregivers did not study themselves, it is just as exciting for them as it is for you. Possibly they also have a lot of questions. This is why there is a special session for them, so that they also know what studying at university means and how they can support you during your study time.
Programme
The event will consist of the following program:
- Word of welcome
- Mini-lecture: What’s it like to study?
- Information market about studies, support and student life
- For you: Lunch on the boat
- For your parent/caretaker: Lunch and parent session
- What lies ahead? Conversation panel with a senior student
