Humanities Lab is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year! To celebrate this important milestone, we would like to invite you to our first ever alumni event on Friday afternoon May 24th.
This event will be held during our 2024 Capstone Conference, which you are warmly invited to attend.
During the Capstone poster presentations, you will get the opportunity to see what current students of the programme have been doing. There will also be an introductory lecture by Humanities alum and guest speaker Floor Peeters, Policy Advisor Education, Research and Innovation at Neth-ER. During the closing network borrel, we announce the audience awards of the Capstone presentations and celebrate Humanities Lab’s 10th anniversary. You can catch up with your fellow alumni and have some nice conversations with a diverse group of attendees.
Thank you for attending our first ever alumni event!

Floor Peeters: 'Humanities - what’s in a name?'
“Science can tell you how to clone a T-Rex. Humanities will tell you why this might be a bad idea.” It’s a nostalgic picture, one I remember well from my classes on the humanities discipline. In this short lecture, I will share my academic and professional parcours, from Humanities Lab to Brussels. Along the way, I will showcase how the skills I was taught during my studies got me where I wanted to be and to become who I wanted to be, sometimes in unexpected ways. I will also touch upon the (changing) role of humanities and its interdisciplinarity in policy.
