Every third Saturday of November the Ars et Mathesis Day takes place. Mathematical artists, or mathemartists, will exhibit their work and there will be four fun lectures about mathematical art.
Lectures
This year’s four lectures are:
- ‘De cosmatenvloer van Westminster Abbey’ by Bart Heukelom
- ‘Binaire en andere wiskundige patronen’ by Arjan van der Meij
- ‘Vouwend wiskunde verkennen’ by Jacoliene van Wijk
- ‘De veelvlakken van Albrecht Dürer’ by Rinus Roelofs
All lectures are in Dutch.
Chairman of the day
The chairman of the day is Sjoerd Verduyn Lunel, former scientific director of the Mathematical Institute and former dean of the Faculty of Science.
Participation
Staff and students of the Faculty of Science can participate for free. However, a small contribution (<€5) may be requested for catering. Registration can be done on site, so be on time!
