Past societal well-being
This will be an informal workshop to expand ongoing research collaborations. The key participants will give short presentations on their current research topics. This will be followed by informal discussion with a focus on among others:
- There has been much work on cultural identity in the present. But to what extent are we able to get a handle on identities in the past?
- Can we glean indications on past societal well-being and the traumatic impact of colonialism from Rock Art analysis. And what about similar the deeper past?
- Are museums and universities in both the global north and the global south taking public outreach seriously in terms of reaching underprivileged communities?
Brief contributions by Faculty of Archaeology staff and students are welcomed.
The day will be closed with informal drinks.
