AI in the time of chatGPT -- is AI solved?
There is no doubt that OpenAI's release of chatGPT in late 2022 was a watershed moment in the development and perception of AI. In this talk I will discuss what has been achieved (and what hasn't), and how this affects the AI research landscape. Questions that will pass the review include: What are chatGPT's most surprising capabilities? Has AI now passed the Turing test? Why is overconfidence a problem, and what can we do about it? And finally, where does this leave machine learning and AI research?
