On Saturday 13 May, an alumni event will take place for former students of the BA program South and Southeast Asian Studies/South and Southeast Asian Studies and all predecessors of this program (including Languages and cultures of Indonesia, Languages and cultures of India and Tibet, Indian and Iranian languages and cultures, Languages and cultures of Southeast Asia and Oceania) and for alumni of the (Res) MA Asian Studies who followed the track/specialization South Asia or Southeast Asia. BA International Studies alumni with the South Asia or Southeast Asia region are also very welcome!
Programme
2.00-2.15 pm Doors open; coffee and tea
2.15-2.20 pm Opening by current BASSEAS programme chair David Henley
2.20-3.00 pm First alumni speaker session:
• Audrey Aijpassa, Senior Policy Advisor for Innovation in Education, Ministry of Education, The Hague
• Edwin Jurriens, Convenor of the Indonesian Studies Programme, University of Melbourne (joining by video link from Australia)
• Iona Susanto, yoga instructor, Amsterdam
3.00-3.15 pm Sample yoga session led by Iona Susanto
3.15-3.45 pm Food, drinks, games
3.45-4.25 pm Second alumni speaker session:
• Marit Feld, until recently Junior Education Director, Museum Villa Mondriaan, Winterswijk
• Lotte Troost, Programme Coordinator, International Internships (Australia), Jakarta (joining by video link from Indonesia)
• Olii-Pekka Littunen, PhD student, Leiden University
