Lessons learned during Honours education
The Honours College challenges bachelor students to deepen and broaden their knowledge and skills. Honours education is interdisciplinary and enables students to go off the beaten track of their studies. But what does this look like in practice? At the Honours Conference, experts by experience take the floor and share with the university community what they have learned during the Honours College.
Programme
The 2nd Honours Conference will take place this year on 16 May at the Old Observatory in Leiden, from 17.15 - 19.00 hrs. At the Honours Conference, honours students share the creations, findings and experiences they acquired during their internships, research projects and honours classes.
Both honours and non-honours students of Leiden University are welcome to attend the conference and engage in the ensuing discussions. Afterwards, there will be an opportunity for a small drink to get to know each other better or to talk some more about the things you have seen.
Submit a project
If you are a honours student and you have done an awesome project you can sign up to present it at the Conference! This can be something you have made in previous years or something you are working on currently. For example, a research project, your experience during an internship, a creative assignment, an interesting literature review, etc, as long as it is interesting to others.
Important to note:
- You can present individually or as a group. The presentation as a whole should take no more than 10 minutes.
- Please use a vocabulary that is accessible to students from disciplines outside your own. For example, when using abbreviations, or naming theories/methods specific to your discipline, please make sure you explain and/or describe these in terms friendlier to those unfamiliar with the discipline. This is to ensure an opportunity to learn from diverse disciplines without need for prior knowledge.
- Please submit your proposal before Sunday 7 May at 23.59 hrs.
Based on your submission, we will place you in a session during the Honours Conference. We look forward to reading your submissions and welcoming you at the Honours Conference!
If you submit a proposal, you don’t need to register as a visitor for the conference.
I'll contribute as a presenter!Questions
