Nawal Mustafa has an undergraduate degree in International & European Law and an LLM Master in International Law and the Law of International Organisations with specialisations in Human Rights Law from Rijksuniversiteit Groningen. Nawal is finishing her PhD at the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam. Her PhD research focuses on the historical regulation of interracialised relationships in the U.K. in 1950-1960. Nawal’s research interests are decolonial and intersectional perspectives on ‘race’ and law. Currently Nawal is working at the Law faculty of the Vrije Universiteit as postdoctoral researcher where she research the Dutch legal history of slavery.
