Summary:

Adapting a radiotherapy treatment plan to the daily anatomy is a crucial task to ensure adequate irradiation of the target without unnecessary exposure of healthy tissue. This adaptation can be performed by automatically generating contours of the daily anatomy together with fast re-optimization of the treatment plan. These measures can compensate for the daily variation and ensure the delivery of the prescribed dose distribution at small margins and high robustness settings. In this thesis, we focused on developing a deep learning-based methodology for automatic contouring for real-time adaptive radiotherapy either guided by CT or MR imaging modalities.

PhD dissertations

Approximately one week after the defence, PhD dissertations by Leiden PhD students are available digitally through the Leiden Repository, that offers free access to these PhD dissertations. Please note that in some cases a dissertation may be under embargo temporarily and access to its full-text version will only be granted later.
