Developing tools and practices to promote open and efficient science
In this talk, we’ll introduce some new tools that aim to improve the efficiency of researchers’ work and the accumulation of knowledge. By increasing efficiency, we aim to minimize the workload of researchers and help the adoption of new research practices. The presented tools are the following: (1) Tenzing, a web app to simplify the CRediT-based documentation and reporting of contributions to scholarly articles; (2) SampleSizePlanner, a web app and R package that offer nine different methods to determine and justify the sample size of a study design; and (3) the Multi-analyst guidance, a consensus-based guide for conducting and documenting multi-analyst studies..
