Visual art today is strongly interlinked with today’s society, a connection which is reinforced by social and other media. In Arts, Media and Society, an English-taught specialisation of the Art History bachelor’s programme, you will explore this relationship and analyse how it reflects and impacts the issues of our time, such as climate change and inequality. The first year focuses on art history, giving you a strong foundation. In the second and third year, you will concentrate on the interaction between contemporary art, media and today’s society. This multidisciplinary programme also offers insights into the relation of art with such disciplines as science and politics. Throughout the programme, you will develop your academic and personal skills. The curriculum ensures that upon graduation, you will be equipped for a wide range of jobs, including curating, art consultancy, publishing or journalism.
